Holme for Gardens was established in the mid 70's with the Pick Your Own as Holme Fruit producing Pick Your Own as diversification to the dairy farm.

The original business was on Priory Farm in East Holme, and moved to the current site in the mid 80's.

Simon started the nursery business in 1991 after completing an HND in Horticulture at Writtle College, Essex.

Jim Goldsack, Simon's father retired in 2002 leaving the fruit farm and nursery for Simon to run in tandem.

Jenny Goldsack, Simon's sister-in-law, started Goldy's Farm Shop in 1999 which although is run aside from the main nursery and PYO, has established a large customer base of people who appreciate quality food, produced as locally as possible.

Simon is passionate about plants and gardens and the nursery reflects this through its high reputation for quality plants and produce and advice to all gardeners.

People generally expect high quality plants from all garden centers and nurseries but sadly this is not the case. One of our most frequent comments is

'Your plants are just so much better than anywhere else....'
